Here is an explanation to the different types of services:
We are reminded of the good news of Christmas in the decorating of the Christingle oranges and the lighting of the candles. These services are particularly suitable for children.
We recall the wonder of the very first Christmas in re-telling the story through the singing of carols and placing figures from the nativity in the crib. These services are also particularly suitable for children.
We gather together to praise God and hear the good news of Christmas through Bible readings and the singing of carols.
“Blue Christmas” Service
If you are feeling that this will be a ‘Blue’ Christmas for you, or you know someone who does, come and join us at a reflective ‘Blue Christmas’ service. Take hope from Jesus who came to share the sorrows and the joys of our lives, who doesn’t ask for ‘seasonal cheer’ but who offers his love and his light.
These services start just before midnight on Christmas Eve. During the service, you will have the opportunity to take communion (bread and wine) or receive a blessing from the priest.
These services take place on the morning of Christmas Day. During the service, you will have the opportunity to take communion (bread and wine) or receive a blessing from the priest.
