Muddy Church 🪁
May's Muddy Church has a 'wind' theme.
This month Muddy Church meets at Martinsell Hill, by the car park (AKA Clench Common) so that we can fly kites as we wonder about the power of wind for Ascension and Pentecost (closest postcode SN8 4PA - what3words: prefer.universal.flap). The walk is shorter than usual (about 1 mile) but a bit of uphill to get from the car park to the top - go as slowly as you need!
If you have a kite feel free to bring it, but we have enough to share if not.
Muddy Church is our monthly gathering (4th Sunday of every month) - a chance to be together outside, away from screens, for all ages; to go for a Wander nearby, taking time to be aware of God around us as we explore, and to Wonder about the world he gave us 🌍
Each relaxed and informal session meets at St. John’s Churchyard, going for a mini-adventure of about 1.3 miles (there’s a shorter option if you really can’t manage that), with graphic resources to help us think about the theme of the day - chat with others as you walk, or just have a think by yourself.
Reward at the end!
At the end back at the churchyard there'll also be a hot chocolate or tea/coffee - who knows, we might even need a cold drink(!) and a final prayer at about 5pm.
🐾 You can bring the dogs if they’re well-behaved, same goes for the grandparents! Dogs need to be on a lead though - as well as possible livestock in fields, not everyone loves our four-legged friends as much as us!
Everyone’s welcome - please come dressed for the wonderful English weather ☀️⚡️- that’s all you need though; map, instructions and refreshments all provided.
